Vampire thief pumps draw a vacuum of 27 inches of Hg (Mercury).

Supplied with a customer specified length of LDPE nylon tubing.

Designed in such a way that the vacuum will draw fluid directly into the bottle, without coming in contact with the pump.

A versatile distillation apparatus with high separation efficiency. Suitable for solving difficult separation problems and for the production of pure substances, aromatic compounds of high molecular weight, fatty acids etc.

The system is supplied with a packed column with wire mesh packing and optionally with a concentric tune column, which can alternatively be applied according to requirements.

The concentric-tube-column is especially versatile unit with highest separation efficiency and up-to-date processor control.

The special advantages of the concentric-tube-column are:

The separation efficiency in the concentric-tube-column is based on the physical principle of the mass transfer between vertically rising vapour and the spirally trickling film of liquid in a concentric annular gap made of glass. The concentric-tube-column is perfectly suitable for the separation of temperature sensitive substances.

ASTM Distillation System PD 1120 CC

Fully-automatic system for the determination of the equilibrium boiling point of engine coolants conforming to ASTM D1120 and brake fluids according to SAE-J1704 and other standards.

The system is designed for fully-automatic operation conforming to ASTM-D1120 to determine very precise and reproduceable the boiling point of engine coolants and brake fluids.

A complete test can be done in approx. 8-15 minutes. An indelible print out with all results is peformed automatically and additionally a PDF-file can be created for network connectivity.

The product is being charged and heated up to the boiling point. The drop rate of the condensed product is being detected and registered by means of an optical sensor. Up to the point when the optimal and preselectable drop rate per second is achieved the system will control the heating power by pulse duration modulation. The system controls the operation until the required equilibrium is stabilized. The temperature of the liquid is being measured by means of of very pricise temperature sensor.

By using a barometric sensor the boiling point correction is being calculated and presented via programmed formula. All parameters are variable in order to follow different applications and test procedures in the same system.

Options

PILODIST 1120 CC can be operated in different measuring modes to be selected via an integrated touchpanel. All parameters are indicated during the measuring process as well as the results. The basically included test methods are:

  • Tick Reflux boiling point (astm-d1120)
  • Tick Equilibrium reflux boiling point (sae-j1704)

As a special feature there is an additional software available for measurements also the following characteristics according to SAE-J1703 & J1704 (Option 1):

  • Tick Wet boiling point

ASTM Distillation System D-2892

Processor controlled turnkey crude oil distillation system for fully automatic operation without user intervention exactly conforming to ASTM D-2892 (TBP), latest revision.

The system is computer controlled and designed for fully automatic operation throughout the different distillation runs at different pressure levels which includes:

  • Tick Debutanization
  • Tick 1. run at atmospheric pressure
  • Tick 2. run at vacuum 100 Torr
  • Tick 3. run at vacuum 10 Torr
  • Tick 4. run at vacuum 2 Torr

These different distillation runs are performed automatically without any intervention of the operator. The system automatically manages the changes of all involved pressure changes from atmospheric to the different vacuum conditions. The duration of the intermediate cooling procedure in between the different runs is minimized by an intensive cooling of the flask charge.

The system measures the distillation rate with an online volume measuring system of each fraction before each cut is being discharged into an automatic fraction collector with 20 receivers. The fraction collector is equipped with an inbuilt electronic balance to measure the weight of each fraction. By replacing filled receivers even during operation, the system can handle up to 80 cuts for the distillation of one sample. The receiver change is performed according to pre-selected cut temperatures or when a receiver is filled up to continue the cut sampling in the next receiver (to avoid overfilling of the receiver).

After the distillation, the operator needs to weigh the gas trap as well as the flask residue by the external balance (part of delivery), the weights are automatically taken by the system and as a result the final data evaluation and TBP-curves in weight-% and volume-% are printed out and can be stored.

A data station for overriding parameter input as well as for display of all operation parameters, distillation results and TBP-curve, as well as an external balance is included.

The system is modularly constructed and provides the possibility to allow several options like online density measurement, water removal (prior to the start of the distillation), stainless steel flasks, gas detector, hydrogen sulfide-alarm as well as a complete sheathing of the system.

The system requires for operation water, nitrogen, compressed air and electricity to be supplied by lab infrastructure.
